Professor Peggy Hartwick is a passionate educator who cares deeply about her students’ learning and success. She thoughtfully blends technology and pedagogy to create safe, authentic and engaging learning opportunities for students. Her creation of a 3-D environment for teaching English as a Second Language, entitled “Virtual Carleton”, is pioneering and transformative.

Professor John Kleefeld incorporates experiential learning and creative projects into all of his classes to spur student engagement. His innovations include a cross-university negotiation exercise conducted by email, reflective journaling, and unique learning activities in the context of legal education. He has a keen interest in reforming and humanizing law and legal education, a theme that runs through his teaching and scholarship.

Professor Veronika Mogyorody’s career is filled with innovative activities that have inspired learning. She has enabled learners, educators, academics and
community members to transcend the
boundaries that limit
their perspectives,
actions and opportunities. Her vision and commitment have dramatically impacted teaching and learning across nearly every faculty at the University of Windsor.

Professor Diane Reddy designed and implemented U-Pace, a student-centered, high-impact online learning technology that has demonstrably increased student success at her institution and beyond. Her U-Pace frameworks and methodologies have been expanded into many other disciplines and her innovation has empowered her students to achieve beyond what they thought was possible for themselves.

Professor Aleksandra Zecevic creates safe environments where students can explore curiosity, creativity, cooperation and leadership. In her classrooms students are allowed to make mistakes, then self-reflect and take responsibility for change. Her courses bring together local community and academia, and engage students as learners, teachers, problem solvers, researchers, graders, presenters, writers, videographers, and ultimately advocates for older adults.
