National Conference Organizing Committee
Reconnecting and Reconstructing: Perspectives on Teaching and Learning
STLHE is recruiting volunteers for the National Conference Organizing Committee for our upcoming conference in Ottawa, June 6-10, 2022. Volunteers will provide creative input to the conference, recruitment and planning for subcommittees, and event support. We expect these roles will require monthly meetings starting in September and bi-weekly meetings for six weeks leading up to the conference.
The positions we require are:
- Conference Co-chair: You are a STLHE Conference spokesperson and will be responsible to oversee conference planning, including co-developing work plans and ensuring that various responsibilities and schedules are met. Along with your co-chair, you will also be responsible for the agendas and for establishing a process to take minutes for Organizing Committee meetings.
- Sponsorship Subcommittee Chair: You are responsible for promoting and soliciting sponsorship opportunities for the conference, and coordinating a subcommittee as necessary.
- Social Subcommittee Chair: You are responsible for planning social and networking activities for attendees, and coordinating a subcommittee as necessary. Example activities include: Welcoming reception and Gala.
- Volunteer Subcommittee Chair: You are responsible for identifying the volunteer roles, recruiting, providing support leading up to the conference and coordinating volunteers during the conference.
As much as possible, we would like the committee and subcommittees to include members from across the country, across disciplines, across institution types, and across groups within STLHE.
To express interest in a chair role or as a volunteer on any of the subcommittees, please email Jess Wallace at conference-congres@stlhe.ca with a *brief* statement (a few sentences!) of what and how you would like to contribute to the conference. Please also send an email if you would like additional information.
Sincerely,
Janice Miller-Young
