Council of Fellows: Call for Student Representative
Deadline
March 9, 2021
Time
3:00 am ET
Over the summer, the executive of the Council of Fellows received a list of demands from several engaged Fellows who pushed them to think deeply about their role in creating a more equitable higher education landscape.
In response, the executive has committed to a series of steps. One is to create more space for diverse voices on our executive. The council executive has created a new student position for 2021 in order to begin to form a leadership group that better represents the Council of Fellows constituents.
The executive of the Council of Fellows invites 3M National Student Fellows to apply for this appointed position as a member of the council executive. This invitation is open to any recipient of the 3M National Student Fellowship who is currently enrolled as a student. This includes undergraduate, graduate, and college students pursuing either part or full-time studies.
Responsibilities include a monthly meeting and associated tasks related to helping us address our missing student voices this year. This position includes a stipend of $1000, and runs from March 2021- December 31, 2021.
To apply, please email a 250-300 word biography and expression of interest to Dr. Pat Maher, chair3mcouncil@stlhe.ca by midnight PST on Monday, March 8, 2021.
In keeping with our commitment to equity, preference will be given to students who self-identify as part of an equity-deserving group. This may include, but is not limited to, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, and/or ability. Preference will be given to an applicant who is currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program.
We thank you for your interest.
