2016 Brightspace Innovation Award in Teaching and Learning Winners
The Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) and Brightspace are delighted to announce the five outstanding post-secondary educators who are recipients of the 2016 Brightspace Innovation Award in Teaching and Learning:
- Carol Hulls, Continuing Lecturer, Department of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering, University of Waterloo;
- David Hutchison, Professor, Faculty of Education and Faculty of Humanities, Brock University;
- Jason Pearson, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, University of Prince Edward Island;
- Peter Sankoff, Professor, Faculty of Law, University of Alberta; and
- Matthew Schnurr, Associate Professor, Department of International Development Studies, Dalhousie University.
The award celebrates innovative, thought-provoking, and impactful teaching and learning practices by passionate post-secondary educators.
“These five exceptional educators are creative leaders who are passionate about providing outstanding learning experiences, opportunities and environments,” says John Baker, president and CEO of Brightspace. “We’re excited to support this year’s award winners. A diverse group of nine highly experienced post-secondary educators selected the winners, who will be recognized at the 2016 STLHE Annual Conference, June 21-24 in London, Ontario and at FUSION, Brightspace’s Global Conference, July 22-26 in Orlando, Fla.
Each of the five winners will receive a two-year membership in STLHE as well as $2,200 toward travel and registration costs for both STLHE’s Annual Conference and FUSION.
