STLHE Regional Events Application

STLHE is launching an exciting new opportunity for its members to create or enhance existing community practices and to further support local engagement through the STLHE Regional Events program. We have dedicated $10,000 per year to support existing or new events. Events could take the form of a regional conference, summit, workshop or other local or cultural format.

STLHE funded events through this program can not be scheduled to conflict with the STLHE National Conference or the Educational Developers Caucus (EDC) conference. Proposals can be submitted in French or English.

Eligibility

Applicant(s) must be current individual STLHE member(s) or their institution is an institutional member of STLHE. The event must be advertised to members of STLHE, however, both STLHE and non-STLHE members can attend the event.

We have identified 4 regions with a total available funding pool of $10,000 per year. There are funds for up to $2,500 per regional event or conference:

  • Northern—Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Yukon
  • Western—British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba
  • Central—Ontario, Quebec
  • Eastern—New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador

Budget

All funding requests must adhere to STLHE policies relating to acceptable expenses and must not exceed the available $2,500 per region.

Review Process

The STLHE Board will review each request based on whether there is alignment between the STLHEs vision, goals, values, and purpose and whether the applicant is a STLHE member. Preference will be given to local issues.

Deadline to Apply

February 15

Please note, if there are no applications for a region or unspent funds (i.e., a regional event organizer requested only $2000), a second call will go out to the STLHE community for the remaining funds, and after a second call, any remaining funds will be available on a first come, first serve basis until all funds are distributed.

Accountability

Within one month of completion of the regional event, the organizers must submit a one-page overview of the event, the participants, and how the funds from STLHE were used to the STLHE secretary for inclusion of the STLHE Board minutes and STLHE website. This one-pager can be submitted in French or English.

Application Criteria:

  • Primary Contact Information
  • Proposed Date of Event
  • Description of the Regional Event (maximum 500 words)—Provide an overview of the event, the purpose, intended audience, identify is there a cost for participants to attend, and alignment with STLHEs vision, goals, values and/or purpose.
  • Budget Request—Specific budget items that the STLHE funds will be used for to enable/support the regional event.
  • STLHE Co-Branding—The applicant(s) agree to use the STLHE logo in their advertising and marketing of the event or identify STLHE as a sponsor.
