A Call for Proposals for STLHE 2019

The Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) is soliciting proposals from Western-Canadian colleges and universities to host, or co-host, its 2019 Annual Conference (June 2019).

We would be honoured if your institution would consider preparing a proposal, or perhaps teaming up with a local institution to create a collaborative proposal, to host this prestigious event. Each year the STLHE Conference attracts approximately 500 top-notch educators, educational developers, 3M National Teaching and Student Fellows, and partnering companies and institutions from across the country and from all over the world, thus presenting the host campus(es) with the opportunity to showcase its institution’s approach to the challenges and rewards of teaching and learning in higher education.

The Conference Manual is your guide to preparing a proposal. Please pay particular attention to the section of the Manual STLHE Conference Monthly Planning Guide: 18-24 Months before the Conference. This section of the manual addresses the preparation and evaluation of proposals. Appendix A: Sample proposal to host the STLHE Annual Conference includes a sample that should serve as a guide in preparing yours.

Proposals must be emailed to Tim Howard (STLHE Administrative Unit) by 1 May 2017. The Board of Directors will begin reviewing proposals during Board Meetings in May and early June and will make its final recommendation at the June 2017 Board meeting held during the annual conference in Halifax.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact STLHE Vice-President Laura Kinderman.

Thank you for your interest.
