STLHE SAPES stlhe

Publications

The Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education furthers its objectives by publishing in the area of university teaching and learning. The Society's governing body, the Board of Directors, includes a Publications Chair. The Chair is supported by a Publications Committee.

STLHE Newsletter

The STLHE has, for many years, published a Newsletter for members. In the past, the task of Newsletter Editor was often assumed by the President of the Society. In June 2004, Erika Kustra of McMaster University was appointed Newsletter Editor and gave a new direction to this communication tool vital to the membership.

In June 2007, Corinne Beauquis (University of Toronto at Scarborough) and Sandra Bassendowski (University of Saskatchewan) each assumed a three-year role as Co-editor of the Newsletter. Sandra has many new ideas for upcoming issues of the Newsletter, including a section for peer-reviewed articles on the scholarship of teaching. Corinne is committed to enhancing the Society's bilingual coverage in the newsletter and increasing the contributions and participation of Francophones.

Green Guides

Several years ago, at the initiative of Christopher Knapper, the STLHE launched a Green Guides series on university teaching and learning. The Society has now published eight succesful guides on a variety of topics of interest to university and college instructors.

Future publications projects include the publication of more material in the French language as well as the publication of special collections on innovative approaches to teaching and learning in higher education. As STLHE is, essentially, a volunteer organization dependent on the membership for direction, we welcome your comments and suggestions regarding STLHE publications.
