Since 1972, Magna Publications has supported higher education by providing
educational resources for students, faculty, and administrators. The
company currently publishes eleven higher education newsletters
including The Teaching Professor, manages numerous online seminars, and holds in-person conferences for student leaders (The National Conference on Student Leadership) and faculty (The Teaching Professor Conference). |
In 2002, STLHE created this award to honour individuals who have, over their career, made significant contributions to teaching, learning and educational development in Canadian higher education. The first recipient, Christopher Knapper, was founding president of STLHE and a member of the the Society's Board of Directors for 20 years.
The call for nominations is circulated to all STLHE members, posted to the STLHE and IDO listservs, and included in the February issue of the STLHE newsletter.
Nominations will be reviewed by a sub-committee appointed by the STLHE Board of Directors, and comprising one or more past-presidents of STLHE, the Teaching Awards Chair, and two other long-serving members of the Society. Each Committee member will serve for a minimum of two years.
The Award comprises a citation and a small gift presented at the annual conference of the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE). The 2010 recipient will be announced at the STLHE Conference Banquet on Friday, June 25, 2010.
The recipient will also be invited to make a presentation during STLHE 2011 at the University of Saskatchewan. Travel expenses to this Conference will be paid by the sponsors.
